CHAP. 109.

Proviso.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Provided, that such road, in the estimation of a majority of the
levy court of each county, shall be considered as useful and necessary,
and in such case the said road, or such part thereof  as shall
be agreed to by a majority of the levy court of each county, is
hereby declared to be a public road, and shall be kept in repair by
the said counties of Harford and Baltimore respectively, as other
public roads in said counties are kept in repair by them; and the
levy courts of each of the said counties are authorised and empowered
to levy and assess a sum of money, such as in their opinion
will be sufficient to clear and open the said road, so far as the same
may run in either county, and to appoint an overseer or overseers
to open said road.

Plots of same, as
run in Baltimore
and Harford counties,
to be made
and recorded.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the commissioners aforesaid are
hereby required to make out a plot of said road so far as the same
may run in Baltimore county, and another plot of said road so far
as it may run in Harford county, under their hands and seals, and
make return thereof to the respective county courts, there to be recorded
among the land records of said counties.
Allowance to
overseers.
    4.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the overseer or overseers appointed
by either of the levy courts upon or over the said road,
shall be entitled to the same allowance for their services as other
overseers in said counties respectively may be entitled to.

                                        CHAP. CX.
An Act to incorporate the Contributors to the Baltimore General Dispensary.

Preamble.     WHEREAS a Dispensary has been established in the city of Baltimore
for the purpose of affording medical aid to the indigent poor
of that city, and its precincts, which has been supported for several
years past by the voluntary contributions of a number of charitable
persons, and has been extensively beneficial in its effects, in
relieving the poor from sickness and preserving the health of the 
city, under the direction of managers appointed by the contributors
to the said institution:  And whereas this general assembly are desirous
to encourage and give permanence to an institution of such
public utility,
Contributors incorporated.     2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the contributors to the Baltimore General Dispensary, as well as
those who shall hereafter become contributors, shall be and they are
hereby created and made a corporation and body politic for ever
hereafter, by the name, style and title, of The President and Managers
of the Baltimore General Dispensary, and by that name shall
have succession, and be capable in law of purchasing, holding, selling,
leasing and conveying, lands, tenements, goods, chattels, and
other property, real, personal and mixed, provided that the value
of the property held at any one time shall not exceed fifteen thousand
dollars, and to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, and
to make, have and use, a common seal, and the same to break,
alter and renew, at pleasure, and generally to do all acts and things
which may be necessary to carry into effect the provisions of this
charter.
Present managers
to act until election
takes places as
directed by this
act.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the present managers, to wit:  the
Reverend Joseph G. J. Bend, president, the Reverend Francis Beeston,
