ALTERATIONS OF THE CONSTITUTION.
An Act (x) to confirm an act, entitled, An act to alter and
change all and every
part of the Constitution and Form of Government as relates
to the Attorney-General.

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That an act passed
at December session eighteen hundred and sixteen, entitled, An act to alter
and
change all and every part of the constitution and form of government as
relates
to the attorney-general, shall be and the same is hereby confirmed.

An Act (y) to alter and change such parts of the Constitution
and Form of Government
as relate to the division of Anne-Arundel County into
Election Districts,
and to change the place of holding Elections in the
Second Election District
of said County. Lib. TH. No. 5, fol. 322.
(y) 1816, ch. 252.
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after
the passage of this act, the polls for the second election district of
Anne-Arundel
county shall be held at the house of Jacob Waters, near the blacksmith's
shop, on the main road leading from the city of Annapolis to the city of
Washington.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all that part of the
second election district of
Anne-Arundel county, lying out of the city of Annapolis, shall constitute
and
compose the second election district of said county.
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the city of Annapolis
shall constitute the
sixth election district of said county for all elections hereafter to be
held for
sheriffs, electors of president and vice-president, and electors of the
senate of
this state, and for a member of congress, which said elections shall be
held by
the mayor, recorder, and aldermen of the said city, or any three or more
of
them, at such place within the said city as they may appoint.
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the mayor, recorder,
and aldermen of said
city, or a majority of them, authorised to hold elections as aforesaid,
shall
make return under their hands and seals, within the time prescribed by
law, of
the votes taken by them at any election held in virtue of this act, to
the presiding
judges of the other election districts of said county.
5. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the presiding judges
of the said election districts,
in making out their returns, shall compute and receive as a part of the
votes taken at any such election, the returns made to them by virtue of
this act,
by the said mayor, recorder and aldermen.
6. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all such parts of the
constitution and form of
government as are repugnant to the provisions of this act, be and the same
are
hereby repealed.
7. AND BE IT ENACTED, That if this act shall be
confirmed by the general
assembly after the next election of delegates, in the first session after
such new
election, as the constitution and form of government direct, that in such
case
this act, and the alterations and amendments of the constitution and form
of government
therein contained, shall be taken and considered, and shall constitute
and be valid, as a part of the said constitution and form of government,
any
thing in the said constitution and form of government to the contrary notwithstanding.
