RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore

Jonathan Tutwiller, or order, in quarterly payments, a sum equal
to the half pay of a sergeant, instead of that of a private. |

is hereby directed to pay to Basil Lucas, an old revolutionary soldier,
or to his order annually, a sum of money equal to the half
pay of a sergeant. |

No. 64.
RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore
be, and he
is hereby authorised and directed to pay unto Gassaway Watkins,
late a captain in the revolutionary war, annually in quarterly payments,
a sum of money equal to the half pay of a captain, in lieu
of the sum already allowed him by a resolution passed at November
session eighteen hundred and eleven, as a further remuneration
for those services which so essentially contributed to the independence
of his country. |

RESOLVED, That the governor and council be, and
they are
hereby authorised and requested, in the recess of the legislature,
to arrange with the general government for the establishment of
such sites within this state for the completion and establishment of
fortifications as may be agreed on, and the jurisdiction of the same
is hereby relinquished to the United States. |

NOVEMBER SESSION, 1816.
No. 1.
RESOLVED, That his excellency the governor be requested
to
issue under his hand, and the great seal of the state, to the honourable
Alexander Contee Hanson, who was on the eighteenth
instant elected, on a joint ballot of both houses, a senator to represent
this state in the senate of the United States, to supply the
vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Robert Goodloe Harper,
esquire, a commission in the following words, to wit: The State
of Maryland, to the honourable Alexander C. Hanson, Greeting.
The Legislature of Maryland, reposing especial confidence in your
integrity and abilities, hath appointed you senator to represent this
state in the senate of the United States, for the remainder of the
term for which Robert G. Harper, esquire, was elected, agreeably
to the constitution of the United States. Given under my hand,
and the seal of the state of Maryland, this 20th day of December,
Anno Domini eighteen hundred and sixteen. |

authorised to loan to Lieutenant Colonel Richard K. Heath, for
the use of the fifth regiment of Maryland militia, seventy-five

for the return thereof in good order, when required by the executive
of this state. |
