prepare a plan for
further improveing
navigation of 
Susquehanna.

                APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.

                                        No. 4.
    RESOLVED, That the governor, by and with the advice and consent
of the council, be and he is hereby authorised and requested
to appoint three commissioners on the part of the state of Maryland,
to meet such commissioner or commissioners as may be appointed
on the part of the state of Pennsylvania, and also on the
part of the Susquehanna canal company, at such time and place as
may mutually be agreed upon, to digest and prepare such plan or
compact for the further and effectual improvement of the navigation
of the river Susquehanna, as may appear most conducive to
their joint interests, which plan or compact, when reported to, and
ratified by, the succeeding legislatures of the two states, shall be
mutually binding and obligatory.


Resolution to be
forwarded to governor
of Pennsylvania.
                                        No. 5.
    RESOLVED, That the governor be and he is hereby requested to
forward the aforegoing resolution to the governor of the state of
Pennsylvania.

Compensation to
be made to commissioners.
                                        No. 6.
    RESOLVED, That the governor, by and with the advice and consent
of the council, be and he is hereby authorised and required to
make such compensation to the commissioners to be appointed by
the aforegoing resolution, when they shall have executed the duties
therein prescribed, as he shall deem just and reasonable, by order
drawn on the treasurer of the western shore, who is hereby directed
to pay the same out of any unappropriated monies in the treasury.

In favour of Darby
McNemara.
                                        No. 7.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is
hereby directed to pay annually, to Darby McNemara, the sum of
fifteen pounds current money, in quarterly payments, in consideration
of his many services as a soldier in the late revolutionary
war, by which he has been rendered entirely unable to obtain a
subsistence.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Laws of U. S. how
to be distributed.

                                        No. 8.
    WHEREAS by the act of congress, passed on the third of March,
one thousand seven hundred and ninety-five, four thousand five
hundred copies of the laws of the United States were directed to be
published and distributed among the respective states, in such manner
as the several legislatures or executives thereof should deem
most conducive to the general information of the people, and there
being three hundred and eighty of the said copies assigned for the
use of this state; therefore, RESOLVED, That the governor and council
send five copies of the said laws to the several county clerks, to
be delivered by them, one copy thereof to each of the associate justices
of the county court, another copy to the sheriff, another copy
to the register of wills, for the use of the orphans courts, and one
copy to be kept in their respective offices for the use of the county
courts.

Further distribution.
                                        No. 9.
    RESOLVED FURTHER, That the governor and council deliver, or
cause to be delivered, a copy of the said laws to each member of the
general assembly, to each judge of the general court, and to each
chief justice of the county courts; to the chancellor one copy; to
the judges of the high court of appeals, for the use of the said
