            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    Provisions concerning the interest of the state in the
City Bank of Baltimore,
 

—Same, as to the Bank of Somerset,
—Same, as to the Conococheague Bank,
 

—Same, as to the Havre-de-Grace Bank,
 

—Same, as to the Planters Bank of Leonard-town,

    Money to be invested in certain banks.  See Treasurer.
    The Westminster Bank to pay annually to the treasurer
20 cents on every $100 on the capital stock actually
paid, as a fund for county schools,
—Same, as to the Planters Bank of Prince-George's
county,
—Same, as to the Centreville Bank of Maryland,
—Same as to the Farmers Bank of Leonard-town,
—Same, as to the Frederick County Bank,
—Same, as to the North and South Branch Bank
of Potomac,

    Division of the state into judicial districts,

    Cases in which the legal title of land being in the
state a conveyance is to be decreed and made by the
chancellor,
    An act more effectually to secure public revenues,
    The current money of the state recognized,
    Property belonging to the state not to be valued for
the public assessment,
    An act for appointing a printer to the state,
    Provision for the appointment of an agent for settling
claims by the state against the general government,
    Provision made for the payment of loans to the state
by banks and individuals,
    The attorney general to defend or prosecute suits in
the court of appeals where the state is interested,
—Same, as to the district attornies, in the county
courts,
    Advice to be given by the attorney general to the assembly,
governor and council, and treasurer, when required,
    Commission on prizes in lotteries to be paid to the
treasurer for the use of the state,
    The commissioners to prepare the schemes of not
more than two lotteries for the state, &c.
 

    An act for settling the western limits of this state and
the dividing line and boundary between this state and
Virginia,
    The appointment of commissioners required by this
act shall not be made until the legislature of Virginia
shall pass a law with provisions similar to those contained
in this act,
