SOMERSET COUNTY

            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    A supplement to the act of 1747, ch. 5, to prohibit
the raising of swine and geese in Princess-Anne,
    A lottery authorised for finishing Washington Academy,
&c.
    The divisional road between Somerset and Worcester
counties to be laid out,
    The Eden School lands to be sold, and the proceeds
divided between the Washington Academy and Worcester
County School,
    Land belonging to Stepney Parish to be sold,

    Caroline, Dorchester, Somerset, and Worcester
counties, to form the fourth judicial district,

    Money to be levied for the road established by the act
of 1798, ch. 25,
    Dorchester, Somerset, and Worcester counties, form
the eighth district for electing representatives to congress,
    Part of Dorchester, Somerset, and Worcester counties,
form the ninth district for choosing electors of the
president and vice-president of the United States,
    A road to be laid out from J. Heath's lane to intersect
the public road from Princess-Anne to Snow Hill,
—From Whittington's bridge at Princess-Anne-town,
to intersect the road from Salisbury to Stevens's
ferry,
    A Board of Agriculture established,
    The trustees of the poor empowered to keep out pensioners,
    Penalty on persons taking out seins across the river
Wicomico,
    Money to be levied for the support of L. Miles, a lunatic,
    Allowance to grand and petit jurymen in the county
courts, and petit jurymen in the orphans court,
—Former laws repealed,
    A road to be laid out from Salisbury in the direction
to Laurel in Delaware,
    Warehouse lots, &c. to be sold,
—Proceedings thereon confirmed,
    A lottery authorised for purchasing a fire engine, &c.
for the town of Salisbury,

—Provision made for the regulation and improvement
of the said town,

    Penalty for erecting booths or selling liquor within
two miles of any camp or quarterly Methodist meeting,
    Regulations concerning militia meetings in Somerset
county,

    The Farmers Bank of Somerset and Worcester
incorporated,

    A road to be laid out from a point on the road from
Barren Creek to Vienna Ferry, to intersect the main
road from Laurel in Delaware,

    The Bank of Somerset incorporated, &c.

    The charter continued and extended to the 1st of
January 1813, on condition.  See Farmers Bank of
Maryland,
    A public landing place to be laid out at the head of
Wicomico Creek,
    The road from J. Broughton's, on a route to be
agreed on, to intersect the road from Princess-Anne to
Stephen's Ferry, declared public,
    Money to be levied for the support of Elijah S.
