INDEX TO THE LAWS.
—Empowered to apply each county's proportion of
the fund pledged for the establishment of free schools
by the act concerning the Cumberland road and the
extension of the bank charters,
—The treasurer of the western shore authorised to
pay such proportion to the said commissioners, or their
agents, and for that purpose to dispose of the parts
of
the fund requisite,
The commissioners to report annually
to the general
assembly the disposition of the funds,
The commissioners to receive no compensation,

The North and South Branch Bank of

pay to the treasurer of the western shore 20 cents for
every 100 dollars subscribed and paid in, for each year
during its charter, which is pledged as a fund for supporting
county schools, to be equally apportioned,
