Penalty on non-commissioned officers
and privates
armed by the public, having their arms, &c. out of
order,
Duty of the captains and colonels

If any officer or private of the militia
shall be disabled
while in service he shall be entitled to half pay
during life,
The 6th section of the act of 1811,

when cavalry are called into actual service, whether
they shall be armed, &c. as mounted infantry, and
to
furnish arms and equipments accordingly,
May accept their services as such, and that of
companies of artillery as flying artillery, and furnish
arms, &c.
Such corps to be subject to the same rules, &c.
as the cavalry and artillery now are,
Provision for the valuation of houses,
and payment
in cases of loss,
Directions concerning the regiment
of artillery in
Baltimore,
Commanders of regiments, &c. bordering
on navigable
waters, on the approach of an enemy, to remove
boats, to prevent any improper communication,
So much of the act of 1811, ch. 182,
(7th section) as
relates to the drill meetings of the officers, repealed,
The treasurer directed to pay annually,
in quarterly
payments, half pay to the officers, noncommissioned
officer, musicians and privates, disabled in the service,
Proof required of the disability, degree, &c.
If of a permanent nature, the half pay to be for
life, but if temporary, to continue only so long as the
disability
shall remain,
The governor and council authorised to direct the
discontinuance of such pension, if satisfied that the
persons are not entitled under a liberal construction
of
the act,
No sale, transfer, or mortgage of the pensions, or
any part, payable to any noncommissioned officer, musician
or private, before they become due, to be valid,
The act of 1807, ch. 168, fixing the
pay of the adjutant
general and brigade inspectors, repealed,
Power of the judges of Baltimore city
court as to
calling out the militia to assist the civil authority,
There shall be (conformable to the
act of congress
recited,) one colonel, one lieutenant colonel, and one
major, to each regiment consisting of two battalions,
Where there shall be only one battalion, it shall
be commanded by a major,
The governor and council directed to proceed to
commission them accordingly, but not to annul any
commission then in force,
The militia of the Allegany county
not subjected to the
discipline of infantry, and to be trained as riflemen,
Liable only to be called out in companies once in
June and once in October,
In other respects, subject to the militia laws,
Not to extend to companies in Cumberland, or
the greatest part of whom are residents thereof, |
