reversal, but to be released,

as accessary
thereto before the fact—3d. Carnal knowledge
or abuse of any female under ten years—4th. Arson.
A sentence of death shall not be executed
in less
than 20 days after the judgment,
In case any offender, on conviction,
may be sentenced
to suffer death, the court shall sentence him or
her to suffer death by hanging by the neck,
Suits for, when to be tried by a justice
of the peace.

Proceedings directed against county
clerks, &c.
neglecting or refusing to make payments to the state,
The treasurer, under the direction
of the governor
and council, invested with power to demand and receive
payment of arrearages due to the state,
—To furnish the governor and council, when requested,
with statements thereof,
—The governor and council empowered to direct
suits, and employ attornies,
—But all debts due to the state to be paid to the treasurers
only,
—The governor and council empowered to compound
with such debtors, and to direct the treasurers
to take bonds with security, giving credit not exceeding
two years,
—Sheriffs and clerks directed to make payment of
monies due for fines, licenses, &c.
—The governor and council may direct suits against
them, and give credit for money not chargeable by
law, |
