INDEX TO THE LAWS.
Every person knowingly selling a servant
or slave entitled
to freedom after a term of years, &c. to any person
not a resident for one year next preceding, or his
agent, shall, on conviction be sentenced to confinement
in the penitentiary for a term not exceeding two
years,
—Same, on selling such servant or slave for a longer
time than he is bound to serve,
—Same, on persons knowingly purchasing such
servant or slave as described in that section—principal
or agent,
—Such persons, unknowingly purchasing, and afterwards
giving information on oath, to a justice, not
liable to prosecution,
Justices to take recognizances in
cases of suspicion,
Punishment for setting fire to or
burning the bridge
over Susquehannah, near Rock Run,
The third section of the act of 1816,

duelling, repealed,
Free persons convicted of enticing
any slave or servant

deceased person
at the time of his death to be assets,
