CHAP. XXXII.
An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Worcester County
to assess and levy annually a sum of money for the support
of Elizabeth

Preamble. |
WHEREAS Henman Cowley, by his petition to this general
assembly
hath set forth, that his daughter Elizabeth, now of the age
of twenty-three years, hath been deprived of the use of her limbs,
and a constant expense to him from her infancy, and that he is a
very poor man, and prays that an act may pass, authorising the
levy court of Worcester county to levy a sum of money for the
support of the said Elizabeth out of the poor house; and the facts
stated in said petition appearing to be true, therefore, |
Levy authorised. |
2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the justices of Worcester county levy court shall be and they are
hereby directed and empowered, at their levy court annually, so
long as they shall see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable
property of said county a sum of money, not exceeding thirty dollars,
for the support and maintenance of the said Elizabeth Cowley,
and that the same be collected annually by the collector or collectors
of Worcester county, and paid to such person as the levy
court of said county shall or may direct. |

an act, entitled, An act for the destruction of squirrels in Caroline
county, passed at November session, eighteen hundred, be and the
same is hereby repealed. |

An Act authorising the Levy Court of Saint-Mary's County to levy
a
sum of money for the rent of an Office for the Register
of Wills of

Preamble. |
WHEREAS the register of wills of Saint-Mary's county
hath
stated, by his petition to this general assembly, that for want of a
public office at the seat of justice in the said county he hath been
obliged to rent a house for that purpose at his own expense, and
praying that the levy court of said county may be authorised to
levy on the county such a sum of money as they may think necessary;
and the same appearing reasonable and proper, |

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the levy court of Saint Mary's county be and they are hereby authorised
to levy annually on the said county such a sum of money,
for the purpose of paying the rent of a house to be used as an |
