            INDEX TO THE LAWS.

    Money to be levied for the support of Patsey Gardner
and others,

    The necessary wearing apparel of an insolvent debtor,
and his family, to be excepted from his property
delivered up,
    Wearing apparel not to be valued for the public assessment,

    The Court of Appeals, on reversing any judgment
or part of a judgment at law, to give such judgment as
ought to have been given by the inferior court,
—May enforce their judgment by execution as the
said inferior court might,
—The executions, how returnable,
—The judges of the inferior court to act on the
said return as if the execution had issued therefrom,
    The judges authorised to continue any cause until
the November term then ensuing,
    The judges empowered to reinstate and continue certain
causes,
    Appeal to the governor and council on complaints
against inspectors of tobacco,
    Fees for taking appeal bonds to be allowed to justices
of the peace, to be prepared by them,
    No action in the court of appeals shall continue
longer than the end of the fourth court after the same
shall have been instituted, unless by consent of parties,
at the discretion of the court,
    The Constitution as relating to the court of appeals,
&c. annulled, and a new court established,
—The court appeals shall be composed of the
chief judges of the several judicial districts,
—To have all the powers held by the late court
and the appellate jurisdiction of the late general court,
—To sit on the western and eastern shores at
such times and places as to the legislature shall direct;
any three of the judges to form a quorum,
—The judge who has given a decision in the
county court, to withdraw from the bench of the
court of appeals, on deciding the same case,
    Appointment and tenure of the Clerks; their fees,
&c.

    All laws to be recorded in the office of the court
of appeals for the western shore,
    Oath or affirmation to be taken by the judges before
they act as such, and recorded,
    Form of commissions to the judges,
—To be varied so as to designate the chief judge,
    Causes in the former court of appeals, or general
court, on appeal or writ of error, transferred to the
court of appeals then established for the respective
shores,
—To stand as when transferred, and to be tried in
the same manner as in the former court, and executions
to issue,
—Certain causes allowed to be continued one court
longer than they could have been in the former
court,
—Directions for the transmission of records, &c.
by the late clerks,
