ALLEGANY COUNTY
 

 

            INDEX TO THE LAWS.

    Additional allowance for the heads of wolves,
    The clerks and judges of elections to be allowed no
more than two dollars per day,
    Penalty on persons setting up books for selling liquors,
&c. near the Methodist Camp or Quarterly
Meetings,
    Regulations concerning militia meetings,
    The Cumberland Bank of Alleghany incorporated, &c.

Provision made for preventing trespasses by persons,
not inhabitants, driving in horses, cattle, &c.
and suffering them to run at large, &c.
    A lottery authorised for opening a road from Western
Port, on George's Creek, to Savage River,
 

    Acts concerning the incorporation of a company to
make a turnpike road leading to Cumberland, and
for the extension of the charters of the several banks
in this state, and for other purposes,
 

 

    A lottery authorised for building a church in Cumberland,
    The road from Hancock to Cumberland, as located
by Williams and Moore, declared to be a public road,
    A lottery authorised for purchasing a fire engine in
Cumberland,
    The average value of lands to be fifty cents per acre,
Lands to the westward of Fort Cumberland disposed
of in virtue of the act of November 1788, ch. 44,
and its supplements, made chargeable with the public
tax or assessment, according to the value to be set on
them, 
Not to subject to sale any lands before granted to
the officers and soldiers, remaining in their possession,
or that of their heirs or devisees,
But the commissioners of the tax to cause all transfers
by them to be entered, and the land then to be
subject to the county taxes as other lands,
The register of the land office shall, at the time of
making the list directed by section 32, make a list of
all the lands disposed of in virtue of the act of November
1788, ch. 44, &c. not before returned and transmit
it to the commissioners for Allegany county,
    Proceedings in the county court, concerning the
road therein mentioned, reinstated, &c.
    The Cumberland Water Company incorporated, &c.
    A road to be laid out from Beall-street in Cumberland,
to the Limestone Spring on Potomac, and to intersect
the Cresapsburgh road near V. Hoffman's,
    Commissioners appointed for the regulation and improvement
of Cumberland,
    Allegany county, for the purpose of holding all future
elections, to be divided and laid off into eight separate
districts, and that part of the constitution by
which it had been divided into six, repealed,
Commissioners appointed for dividing the county
into eight election districts,
    Allowance to be made to jurors for mileage,
    Manner of keeping the public roads in repair,
The act of 1794, ch. 52, as to Allegany county, repealed,
    A lottery authorised for building bridges,
    The original plot of Cumberland to be revised and
corrected,
    The treasurer directed to pay to the levy court the
county's proportion of the school fund,
