    6.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustees, and their successors,
or a majority of them, shall report annually the state of the
academy to the general assembly for their inspection and examination;
and this act of incorporation, and every part thereof, and the
proceedings of the trustees in execution thereof, shall have effect in
law, according to the true intent and meaning of the said respectively,
and shall be understood, reputed and adjudged, in all cases,
most favourably on the behalf, and for the benefit of the said trustees,
and their successors, so as most effectually to answer the
object and design of this act, towards the advancement and promotion
of knowledge and virtue.

                                        CHAP. CX.
An Act for the relief of Joseph Darden, of Talbot County.  Lib. TH.
                                      No. 6, fol. 323.
Benefit of insolvent 
laws extended
to him.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the judges of Talbot county court, be, and they are hereby authorised,
to extend to Joseph Darden, of Talbot county, the benefit of
the existing insolvent laws of this state, upon his producing to the
said court, at the next session thereof, the assent in writing of two
thirds of his creditors in amount.

                                       CHAP. CXII.
An Act to incorporate the Trustees of Saint Lucas Reformed Church,
    in Union Town, in Frederick County.

Preamble.     WHEREAS, sundry inhabitants of Union Town, in Frederick
county, have by their petition set forth to the legislature, that they
have purchased a lot of ground in said town, and have erected
thereon a house for public worship, and pray for an act of incorporation
for the regulation and organization of the said house of
worship; and it appearing reasonable that the prayer of said petition
be granted, therefore,
Trustees incorporated.













Proviso.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
Jacob Appler, senior, Joseph Greenwood and Philip Hiteshew,
from and immediately after the passage of this act, shall be and
they are hereby erected into a body politic and corporate, in deed
and law, by the name, style and title, of The Trustees of St. Lucas
Reformed Church in Union Town, and that they the trustees by the
name aforesaid, and their successors to be elected as herein after
mentioned, shall have perpetual succession, and shall be able and
capable to purchase, take, have, hold, receive and enjoy, to them
and their successors, in fee simple, any property, real, personal
and mixed, which by the constitution and laws of this state may
be acquired and held by any religious society; Provided nevertheless,
that such property shall not exceed the value of ten thousand
