  CHARLES GOLDSBOROUGH, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

for the North Branch Toll Bridge Company of Virginia, to build
and complete a toll bridge over the north branch of Potomac, at
any place or point where the directors of said company may deem
to be most convenient place for a bridge, on the road leading
from Romney, in Virginia, through Westernport, in Maryland, to
Clarksburgh and Morgan-Town, if said bridge should be built and
constructed in such a way as not to molest and impede the navigation
of said north branch of Potomac.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That if it is or should be necessary to
take the land or lands of any person or person more than the present
road as above now holds, for the abutment of said bridge, or
for a road to or from said bridge, if the owners of said lands shall
demand any pay, the said company shall pay and satisfy unto any
such owners of land, a sufficient compensation for the same before
they shall be admitted to take any privileges whatever to the building
of said bridge; but if the owner of said land, and said company,
cannot agree upon the price of said land, the same shall be left
to three discreet men, one to be chosen by the party owning any
such land, and one to be chosen by the said company, and the third
one to be chosen by the men that should be chosen as above, and
after taking into consideration the advantages and disadvantages
accruing, shall bring in any such damages, if any, as they in their
judgment shall deem right and just, and that said men so chosen,
shall reside in the state of Maryland, not related to the holder or
holders of any such lands, nor holding any stock in said company,
and shall be legally sworn, and qualified so to act, before acting.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said men, so chosen as above
directed, shall be entitled to receive as a compensation for their services,
a sum not exceeding two dollars per day for each and every
day that they shall serve, which said sum or sums the said company
shall pay.

An Act for the relief of George Amick, of Frederick County.  Lib.

Passed Jan. 30, 1819.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
George Amick, now in confinement in Frederick county gaol, shall
be and he is hereby entitled to receive the benefit of the act, entitled,
An act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, passed at
November session eighteen hundred and five*, and the several supplements
thereto, according to the terms and conditions prescribed
in said acts, without being obliged to furnish evidence that he has
resided two years within the state of Maryland.
Benefit of insolvent

to him.
