LAWS OF MARYLAND.
and by them to be applied to the payment of the expenses
incurred by the provisions of the act before named, as well
the provisions of this act; and the said collector, so appointed, shall,
before he proceeds to act, give bond to the aforesaid commissioners,
with two sufficient securities, in the sum of one thousand dollars,
that he will faithfully perform the duties required of him by
this act. |
Allowance to the
assessor. |
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the assessor shall
be allowed by
the aforesaid commissioners a sum not exceeding fifty dollars, and
to the collector a sum not exceeding eight per centum on the monies
by him collected. |
Obstructions. |
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That any person or persons
who shall
at any time place, or cause to be placed, any thing which may obstruct
the free passage of the roads, streets, alleys, lanes or footways,
as laid down in said town by the aforesaid commissioners, and shall
refuse or neglect to remove the same after public notice has been
given for twenty days by the aforesaid commissioners, shall forfeit
the sum of one hundred dollars for every twenty days said obstruction
or obstructions shall remain after said notice shall have been
given, to be recovered by the aforesaid commissioners on application
to any justice of the peace in the county the offender or offenders
may reside, and the aforesaid commissioners are hereby authorised
and empowered to remove any obstruction or obstructions,
if any at present exist, in the roads, streets, alleys, lanes or footways,
in said town. |

CHAP. CCV.
An Act enlarging the powers of the Trustees of the Poor of Harford

Allowance to overseer. |
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the trustees of the poor of Harford county, be and they are hereby
authorised and empowered, to allow to the overseer of the poor
of said county, such compensation for his services, as they in their
judgment may deem right, not exceeding two hundred dollars per
annum, and may make such allowance for dieting the said overseer,
and his family, as to them may seem just.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the act, entitled, An act securing to the sheriff of Baltimore county
the gaol fees of certain insolvent debtors, passed at December
session eighteen hundred and sixteen, chapter twenty-nine, be and
the same are hereby repealed from and after the first day of October
next. |
