    Theobald Eighlebergher, guardian of Charles Shafer, authorised to sell and
convey a lot of ground in the environs of Hager's-Town, of which the Reverend
Solomon Shafer died possessed.

An Act for the benefit of Mary Comegys, and others.  Lib. TH. No.
                            5, fol. 345.  A Private Act.

    Authorising Mary Comegys to sell and convey a house and lot in Chester-Town,
part of the real estate of Samuel Comegys, deceased.

                                    CHAP. CXCVII.
An Act for the encouragement of Internal Improvement.  Lib. TH.
                                      No. 5, fol. 346.
Company to be incorporated.     1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
a company, be called and known by the title of The Rail Road Company
of Somerset, shall be incorporated and established in the said
county.
Capital stock.     2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the capital of the said company
shall be twenty thousand dollars, money of the United States, to
consist of two thousand shares of ten dollars each.
Subscriptions to
be opened.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That a subscription for the said capital
shall be opened in the town of Princess Anne, under the direction
of Robert Jenkins King, Benjamin James Handy, Zadock Long,
John Stewart, Francis Waters, William Fleming, Stephne Disharoon,
Jesse Whinright, Littleton Dennis Teakle, John Done,
James Wilson and Gideon Pearce, Esquires, or any two or more
of them, on the second Monday of March next, at 9 A. M. and
continue open till 3 P. M. but if the subscription shall not be filled
on the first day, the commissioners aforesaid may adjourn from
day to day, during five days, exclusive of the first, and at any time
after the first day if the subscriptions shall be completed the commissioners
shall close the same.
Election of president
and directors.
    4.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That when one thousand shares of
the said stock shall have been subscribed, the commissioners aforesaid,
or any two of them, shall give ten days public notice of the
time and place of holding an election for a president and five managers
of the said company.
Votes.     5.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That in electing the president and
managers of the Rail Road Company of Somerset, stockholders
may vote in person or by proxy, according to the number of shares
held.
Original subscriptions
to be delivered
to president,
&c.
    6.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the commissioners shall deliver
over the original subscriptions to the president and managers, immediately
after their election.
Stockholders incorporated.     7.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the stockholders in said company
shall be and are hereby created and erected into a body corporate
and politic, by the name and style of the Rail Road Company
of Somerset, and by the same name shall have perpetual succession,
