                                    CHAP. CXXXV.
An Act Supplementary to an act* to provide for the appointment of
    Commissioners for the regulation and improvement of Princess-Anne,

                                    CHAP. CXXXVI.
An Act authorising the appointment of a Trustee for he Sale of Lot
    No. 9, of the Choptank Indian Lands, in Dorchester County.

Passed Jan. 29, 1817.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the governor, by and with the advice of the council, is authorised
and empowered to appoint a trustee to sell lot No. 9, of the Choptank
Indian Lands, lying in Dorchester county, upon such terms
as the governor and council shall prescribe and direct.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the trustee appointed in virtue of
this act, before he proceeds to exercise any of the powers vested
in him by virtue of said appointment, shall give bond to the state
of Maryland, in such penalty, and with such security, as the governor
and council shall approve, for the faithful performance of
all and singular the powers by this act directed to be vested in
him.

    3.  PROVIDED ALWAYS, AND BE IT ENACTED, That no sale made
by the trustee aforesaid, by virtue of this act, shall be good and valid
unless the same shall be approved of by the governor and council.

    4.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That upon the payment of the whole
of the purchase money, the said trustee shall convey the said lot of
land to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, which conveyance
being duly made, shall be valid and effectual to convey all the
right, title, claim and interest, of the state of Maryland, of, in and
to, the said lot of land, and also all the right, title, claim and interest,
either in law or equity, which William Ennalls, late of
Dorchester county deceased, had to the said lot of land at the time
of his death, and which descended to his heirs.

    5.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That so much of the proceeds of the
sale of the said lot of land shall be applied to the credit of a bond
made and executed on the twentieth day of August, in the year
seventeen hundred and ninety-nine, by William Ennalls, with
John Eccleston and Joseph Ennalls as his securities, as shall be
sufficient to discharge the same, and the surplus, if any, shall be
by the said trustee paid over to the executors or administrators, as
the case may be, of the said William Ennalls, and be considered
assets in their hands.

    6.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustee shall be entitled
to the same compensation for his services as is allowed by the
chancellor in cases of sale of lands made in virtue of a decree of
the court of chancery.

George Meginness, Joseph Rochester, Tristram Thomas, William
Cosden, senior, and Willson Register, be and they are hereby appointed
