CHAP. 28.

Damage to be ascertained.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

    5.  AND whereas the said road when opened will pass through
the ground of Honore Martin, and separate a small corner of the
south-west end of the same; therefore, BE IT ENACTED, That the
commissioners aforesaid, or a majority of them, value and ascertain
the damage the said Honore Martin may sustain in consequence of
the alteration of the said road, and all the expenses in the surveying,
laying off, and opening of the aforesaid road, with the damages
ascertained by the commissioners sustained by the said Honore
Martin, shall be defrayed by the sale of the old road north of the
said town of Rockville, and if that is not sufficient, the deficiency
to be paid by the petitioners, or by the persons who may be interested
therein, otherwise this law to have no effect.

                                           CHAP. XXIX.
An Act securing to the Sheriff of Baltimore County the Gaol Fees of
            certain Insolvent Debtors.

    This act repealed by 1817, ch. 206, from and after the 1st of October then next.

                                            CHAP. XXX.
An Act for the benefit of the Rector of Saint John's Parish, in Harford
            and Baltimore Counties. 
Lib. TH. No. 5, fol. 170.
Preamble.     WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the rector
and vestry of Saint John's Parish, in Harford and Baltimore
counties, that by the last will and testament of Jeremiah Eaton, and
by an act of assembly passed in June, in the year one thousand seventeen
hundred and nineteen*, the rectors of said parish become entitled
to a certain tract of land in Harford county, called Stockley
Manor, or Stock Flemmen:  And whereas the rector and vestry of
said parish are desirous of selling said land, for the purpose of vesting
the proceeds thereof in some monied institution for the benefit of
the present rector, and his successors; therefore,
Vestry authorised
to sell a tract of
land.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the vestry of Saint John's Parish, in Harford and Baltimore counties,
or a majority of them, be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to sell and dispose of the tract of land situated in Harford
county, and known by the name of Stockley Manor, or Stock
Flemmen, and they are hereby also empowered to convey the same
to the purchaser or purchasers in fee simple; and the said vestry,
or a majority of them, shall have full power to vest the money
arising from such sale, in such monied institution as in their opinion
will best conduce to the interest of the present rector, and his
successors.

                                             CHAP. XXXI.
An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Montgomery County to levy a
    sum of money to complete the repairs of the Gaol of said County.

Levy authorised.     BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the justices of the levy court of Montgomery county be, and they
are hereby authorised and empowered, to assess and levy on said
county, such sum of money as may be necessary to complete the
repairs of the gaol of said county.
