                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

                                        CHAP. XXV.
An Act to prevent the erection of Booths within two miles of any
    Methodist Camp or Quarterly Meeting in the several Counties therein
    mentioned.

Preamble.     WHEREAS the Methodist Society hath at different times sustained
such disturbance and vexation from disorderly persons, who
hath set up booths to sell liquors, and other things, near their public
meetings, during the time of divine service; therefore,

booth, &c.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
whosoever, from and after the passage of this act, shall erect a
booth for the purpose of selling, or shall sell or dispose of, any
spirituous liquor within two miles of any Methodist Camp, or
Quarterly Meeting, in Dorchester, Cecil, Kent, Allegany, Calvert,
or Washington counties, during the Camp or Quarterly Meeting
of the said Methodist Society, shall forfeit and pay a sum not
exceeding one hundred dollars current money of this state, to be
recovered in the county court of the said county by indictment,
one half of the sum which may be recovered to be applied to the
use of the county, and the other half to be received by the person
or persons who shall make information thereof.
Not to affect licensed
retailers, &c.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That nothing in this act shall be construed
to hinder any ordinary keeper or licensed retailer from
selling liquors, and other things, in their respective dwelling-houses
or stores.

                                       CHAP. XXVI.
An Act to alter, change and repeal, all such parts of the Constitution
    and Form of Government of this State, as relate to the division of
    Prince George's County into Election Districts.

Preamble.     WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition
of sundry inhabitants of Prince-George's county, that they
experience great inconvenience for want of a sixth election district
in said county, and praying an alteration in the second, third,
and fifth districts, so as to admit a sixth district between; and the
prayer of the petitioners appearing reasonable, therefore,

    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
all that part of the constitution and form of government, made such
by the act of seventeen hundred and ninety eight,* which directs
that Prince-George's county shall be divided and laid off into five
separate districts, be and the same is hereby repealed.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That Prince-George's county shall be
divided into six separate districts, and that the additional district
shall be laid off adjoining and between the second, third, and fifth
districts.
When confirmed
to be a part of constitution.
    5.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That if this act shall be confirmed by
the general assembly of Maryland, after the next election of delegates,
in the first session after such new election, as the constitution
and form of government directs, in such case this act, and the
alterations herein contained, shall constitute and be considered a
part of said constitution and form of government, to all intents and
purposes, any thing therein contained to the contrary notwithstanding.

    This act was confirmed by 1817, ch. 9, and the county divided into election
districts, &c. by 1817, ch. 30.
