LAWS OF MARYLAND.
cause a plot and certificate of said road to be made out, and return
the same to the levy court of Cecil county at their first sitting
thereafter, whereupon it shall and may be lawful for the levy court
of said county, to appoint an overseer to open and clear said road
agreeably to the plot and certificate aforesaid; and the said road,
when so opened and cleared as aforesaid, shall be, and the same is
hereby declared to be, for ever thereafter, a public road, and to be
kept in repair as other public roads in said county are. |
Commissioners'
compensation. |
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners
shall be
entitled to receive a compensation for their attendance and services
in discharge of the duties of this act, not exceeding two dollars
per day, to be ascertained by the levy court, which is hereby directed
to be levied, collected and paid, as other county charges are
levied, collected and paid. |

CHAP. LXXXIV.
An Act Supplementary to an act* to provide for the settlement of
Claims arising from the past or future employment
of the Militia

Governor and

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the governor and council shall be charged with the settlement of
all claims against the state, arising from the employment of the
militia of this state, in place and stead of the accountants directed
to be appointed by the act to which this is a supplement. |
| Repeal. |
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all such parts
of the act to which
this is a supplement, so far as it relates to the appointment of accountants,
be and the same is hereby repealed, and the resolution
passed at May session eighteen hundred and thirteen, making an
allowance to each of the militia accountants, be and the same is
hereby rescinded. |

Commissioners to
be appointed to
open road. |
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the levy court of Washington county are hereby authorised and
directed to appoint three commissioners, to lay out and open a road
towards Green Castle, if in their opinion the same be necessary
and conducive to the public convenience of the inhabitants thereof,
which commissioners, when so appointed, shall lay out and survey,
or cause to be surveyed, a road from the north west end of Jonathan-street
on Hager's-town, in Washington county, in as straight
a direction towards Green Castle as far as the Pennsylvania line,
as the nature of the ground will admit of, and the restrictions
herein after mentioned. |
