instead of the first Monday in August, and that the county
court of Washington county shall hereafter commence and be held
on the third Monday in November, instead of the fourth Monday
in October. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the county court
of Frederick
county, which now stands adjourned to the first Monday in February
next, shall be and is hereby adjourned to the first Monday in
March next. |
Process to be returnable
to first
Monday in March. |
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all process whatsoever
now issued,
or that may be issued in the county court of Frederick, returnable
to the said court of said county, heretofore adjourned to
the first Monday in February next, or to any particular day or
days in the first and succeeding weeks shall be returnable and returned
to the first Monday in March next, or to the corresponding
days in the first and second week succeeding the same respectively,
and all causes and proceedings civil and criminal, returnable and
depending before the said county court of Frederick county, at the
time of its last adjournment, shall be returnable and continued to
the first Monday in March next, in the same manner as if the
said clauses, pleas and proceedings, had been regularly continued
to the said time appointed by the act for holding the county court of
Frederick county. |

CHAP. XIII.
An Act to lay out a Town to be called Bruce-Ville, in Frederick
County.

Commissioners appointed
to have
town surveyed. |
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
John A. Scott, John Murphy, senior, James Horner, Upton S.
Reid, John Scott, William Emmit and Robert L. Annan, be and
they are hereby appointed commissioners, who shall on or before
the first day of May next, meet at Bruce-Ville, and having so met
the said commissioners, or any two of them, shall have power and
authority to direct the surveyor of Frederick county, or any person
they may think proper to appoint, to survey the said town and
the several lots therein, and make out an exact plot thereof, and shall
ascertain and limit the extent of the lots, streets and lanes thereof,
most agreeably to their original location, according to the best evidence
that can be obtained; and the said lots so laid out, shall by
them be numbered one, two, three and so on, for distinguishing
each lot from the other, and shall cause the said streets and lanes
to be named by certain names; and the said commissioners, or a
majority of them, shall have power to adjourn from time to time till
the duties imposed by this act are fully performed. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said lots,
when they are surveyed
and laid out by the commissioners aforesaid, or a majority
of them, shall be and are hereby erected into a town, to be called
and know by the name of Bruce-Ville, and the said commissioners,
or a majority of them, are hereby directed to return a correct
certificate and plot of the said lots to the clerk of Frederick county
court, who is hereby required to record the same among the land
records of said county, and keep the original certificate and plot
in his office; and a certified copy of the original, or record, or
any part thereof, shall be conclusive evidence as to the bounds and
lines of the said town and the lots thereof. |
