their duties under the provisions of this act, the said trustees shall
each receive for their services the sum of two dollars per day, to
be levied on the county, and paid to them by the collector.

10. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the clerk of said
court shall be
allowed twenty-five cents for each certificate of appointment which
he shall make out and deliver to the sheriff, and the sheriff shall be
allowed fifty cents for the delivery of each of the said certificates to
the persons appointed, all of which charges and allowances are to
be levied, collected and paid over, as other county charges are. |
Out-pensioners. |
11. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the trustees in
their discretion
may provide for any number of out pensioners, any law to the contrary
notwithstanding. |

12. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the act, entitled,
A supplement to
the act of seventeen hundred and eighty-five*, and the supplementary
acts thereto, which provide for the poor of Dorchester county,
passed at November session eighteen hundred and eleven †, shall be
and the same are hereby repealed. |
Laws inconsistent
with this repealed. |
13. AND BE IT ENACTED, That any thing in the
said original
act, or the supplements thereto, which is repugnant to, or inconsistent
with, the provisions of this act, shall be and the same is
hereby repealed. |

CHAP. XIV.
An Act to prevent the erection of Booths within two miles of any
Methodist Camp, or Quarterly Meeting, in Frederick County.

Penalty for erecting
booths, &c. |
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
whosoever from and after the passage of this act, shall erect a
booth for the purpose of selling, or shall sell or dispose of any spirituous
liquor within two miles of any Methodist Camp or Quarterly
Meeting of the said Methodist Society, shall forfeit and pay the
sum of twenty dollars current money of this state, one half thereof
to be applied to the use of the county, the other half to him or
them who shall sue for the same, to be recovered in like manner as
other fines and forfeitures. |
Not to hinder licensed
retailers
from selling liquors. |
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That nothing in this
act shall be construed
to hinder any ordinary keeper or licensed retailer from selling
liquors and other things in their respective dwelling-houses or
stores. |
