CHAP. 167.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

are directed to give bond, and shall have the same allowance; and
the said road, when opened and cleared as aforesaid, shall be deemed,
and is hereby declared, to be thereafter a public road, and shall
be kept in repair as other public roads in said county.

Surveyor's compensation.



Proviso.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the surveyor shall be entitled to
receive two dollars for every day he shall attend to discharge the
duties required by this act, to be levied, collected and paid, as other
county charges are levied, collected and paid; Provided, the said
road shall not be laid through the land of any person or persons,
without the consent of the owner or owners thereof.

                                    CHAP. CLXVIII.
An Act for repealing the act*, entitled, An act to lay out a certain
            Road in Harford County.

Preamble.     WHEREAS it hath been represented to this general assembly by
the petition of sundry inhabitants of Harford county, that a road
was laid out under the directions of a law that passed at the last
session of assembly, from Clark's ford on Deer Creek, to a road
leading from Green's mill to the Hickory tavern, that has not as
yet been opened, and that if opened, will not be of public utility,
nor useful to the neighbourhood or the landholders over which the
same is laid; that all the said landholders except one are opposed to
having the said road opened, and have signed the said petition, praying
that the said law be repealed; therefore,
Act repealed.     1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the law passed at the last session of assembly for opening a road
from Clark's ford on Deer Creek to intersect the road leading from
Green's mill to Hickory tavern, entitled, An act to lay out a certain
road in Harford county, be and the same is hereby repealed,
abrogated, annulled, and made void.

                                    CHAP. CLXIX.
An Act to repeal an act for the preservation of the breed of Fish in
                    Patuxent River.

Act repealed.     1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That an
act, entitled, An act for the more effectual preservation of the breed
of fish in Patuxent river, passed at November session seventeen
hundred and ninety-six, be and the same is hereby repealed.

An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Baltimore County to assess and
    levy on the assessable property of said County a sum of money to
    build a Bridge over the Great Falls of Gunpowder River.

for building bridge.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the levy court of Baltimore county be, and they are hereby authorised
and directed, to assess and levy on the assessable property
of said county, such sum or sums of money as they in their judgment
shall deem sufficient to build a bridge over the Great falls of
Gunpowder river, on the post-road leading from Baltimore to
Philadelphia, and the same when assessed and levied, shall be paid
unto Tobias E. Stansbury, John Buck, Annanias Diviss, John B.
