Levy authorised
for opening certain
road. |
LAWS OF MARYLAND.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said levy court
shall assess
and levy on the assessable property in said county, for the purpose
of clearing out, opening and making the upper part of the said
Liberty road, viz. From Brown's shop aforesaid, to the Baltimore
and Frederick county line, the sum of two thousand dollars for
the purpose of clearing out and making said road; and the said
levy court shall appoint supervisors to superintend the clearing
out and making the said part of the said road. |
Act repealed, Criminals
may be employed
as levy
court think proper.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the act*, entitled,
An act relating
to the criminals in Baltimore county, be and the same is hereby
repealed, and the levy court of Baltimore county are hereby authorised
to employ the criminals now at work on the roads in said
county, in such way as they may think will be most beneficial to
the county, any provision in any law to the contrary notwithstanding. |

4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court
of Baltimore
county, at their next levy, shall assess and levy on the assessable
property of said county, the sum of three hundred dollars for the
purpose of clearing and making good that part of the Belle-Air
road lying between the Little Falls of Gunpowder and Jeffery's tavern,
in Baltimore county. |

CHAP. CXXX.
An Act to lay out and open a Road in Prince-George's County, and
for other purposes. Lib. TH. No. 3, fol. 145. |
Road to be extended
to the width of
40 feet. |
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the main road leading from the Eastern Branch bridge, in the
District of Columbia, towards Robert Dodson's tavern, from the
place where the line of the said district intersects the said road, to
a bend in the same, about half a mile from said tavern, shall be extended
to the width of forty feet, and shall be opened under the direction
of the commissioners hereinafter mentioned. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That Francis Magruder,
John S. Magruder
and Elisha Gray, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners
to carry into effect the provisions of this act; and they,
or a majority of them, are hereby authorised to lay off, mark and
open a road at a place called Soper's Old Field; and the said
road shall also be forty feet wide, and shall be located and made by
the persons interested in the same, and when so located and made,
shall become the property of the county, and shall be kept in repair
as other county roads are; and when the said commissioners, or a
majority of them shall have surveyed and marked the location of
the said road, they shall sign a plot of the same, and cause it to
be
recorded amongst the records of Prince-George's county. |
