CHAP. 60.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

hereby directed and empowered, at their levy court annually, to
assess and levy on the assessable property of said county, a sum
of money not exceeding thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance
of Rebecca Shipley, and that the same be collected annually
by the collector of Anne-Arundel county, and paid to the said
Rebecca Shipley, or to her order.

                                            CHAP. LXI.
An Act for the relief of John Hassard and Ralph Hassard, of the City
                        of Baltimore.

Preamble.     WHEREAS it has been represented to this general assembly, that
John Hassard and Ralph Hassard, of the city of Baltimore, having
become, from losses in trade, unable to pay their debts, did heretofore
apply to Baltimore county court for the benefit of the insolvent
law passed at November session eighteen hundred and five,
and its several supplements:  And whereas, the said John Hassard
and Ralph Hassard have also represented that the said county court
hath in consequence of the said John and Ralph Hassard having neglected
to give notice of their said application to certain of their
creditors, who have assented to their release, adjudged that they
are not entitled to the benefits of said act and supplements, notwithstanding
the said John and Ralph Hassard have obtained the
assent in writing of so many of their creditors as have due to them
two-thirds in amount of the debts due by the said John Hassard
and Ralph Hassard, whereby the said John Hassard and Ralph
Hassard have lost the benefit of said act and its supplements; and
it appearing to this general assembly reasonable that the said John
Hassard and Ralph Hassard should be relieved in the premises,
therefore,
Benefit of insolvent
laws extended
to them.

    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the judges of Baltimore county court be, and they are hereby authorised
and empowered, to extend and afford to the said John Hassard
and Ralph Hassard, all the benefits, advantages and provisions
of the act of assembly passed at November session eighteen hundred
and five*, entitled, An act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors,
and of the supplements thereto, upon the application heretofore
made by the said John Hassard and Ralph Hassard for the benefit
thereof to the said county court, upon the same terms and conditions,
as if the said John Hassard and Ralph Hassard had, in
due form of law, served personal notice on each of their creditors, 
of their said application.

An Act to erect a Town in Montgomery County, and for other purposes.

Preamble.     WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly by the petition
of sundry inhabitants of Barnsville, Montgomery county, for
the purpose of erecting a town, that the titles of the proprietors
thereof are precarious and uncertain, and it is prayed that the same
may be surveyed, marked, bounded and erected into a town; therefore,
Commissioners to
appoint a person
to survey said
town, lots, &c.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
