thereby, until the damage by them sustained and assessed as aforesaid
shall be first paid, or secured to be paid, to their satisfaction,
together with legal interest thereon from the time of ascertaining
the damages by them respectively sustained.

CHAP. 153.

    8.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That in case the obstructions in the
said street are not removed within twenty days after the money
charged and assessed as aforesaid is paid, or tendered or secured
to be paid, as aforesaid, the city commissioners aforesaid are hereby
authorised and directed to remove the same without delay, and to
charge the expense of such removal, in equal proportion among
the several person benefitted by the opening and extending the
aforesaid street, according to the benefit which each may have been
estimated to have received, agreeably to the assessment and valuation
aforesaid.
In case obstructions

An Act for the benefit of Luke Tiernan, of the City of Baltimore.

    WHEREAS the Right Reverend John Carroll, Luke Tiernan, Daniel
Williamson, Basil S. Elder, William Jenkins, Francis J.
Mitchell, John Walsh and Philip Lawrenson, trustees of the Roman
Catholic Church in the town, now city, of Baltimore, have be
their petition set forth, that in the year seventeen hundred and
ninety-nine a certain James Stewart, late of the said city, deceased,
agreed to purchase of a certain Russell Allen, also of the said city,
since deceased, a lot of ground lying in the said city, and distinguished
on a plot of that part of said city called Philpot's Point, by
the number three hundred and sixteen, for which the said James
Stewart paid the consideration money; that the said Russell Allen
died intestate and without heirs, without having conveyed the same,
thereby the same became escheat to this state; that the said trustees
of the Roman Catholic Church purchased the said lot from the
said Stewart; that the said Luke Tiernan hath obtained from the
land-office of the western shore of this state, for the benefit of said
trustees, and the said petitioners have prayed this general assembly
to release all the estate, right, title and interest, of the state
of Maryland, of, in and to, the said lot, to the said Luke Tiernan;
and the prayer of said petitioners appearing reasonable, therefore,
Preamble.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
all the estate, right, title, interest and claim, which the state of
Maryland hath of, in and to, lot number three hundred and sixteen,
lying in the city of Baltimore, and distinguished on a plot of that
part of the city called Philpot's Point, by virtue of escheat, or otherwise,
be and the same is hereby given, granted, released and confirmed,
to the said Luke Tiernan, his heirs and assigns, for ever,
for the benefit of the trustees of the Roman Catholic church in the
town, now the city, of Baltimore.

An Act for the relief of John Lyon, of Frederick County.  Lib. TH. 
                            No. 2, fol. 637.  A Private Act.

    Confirming a deed to him and George Sheetinghelm, from Richard Galen
Stockett, for a tract of land called Middle Plantation, lying in the said county;
also deeds of division of the said land, executed to each other by the said Lyon
and Sheetinghelm.
