The Condition of the foresd Recognizance is Such that if the sd Mary Mackenny be of the good behaviour
and abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province, as also keep this County harmless & indemnified
from her Basterd Child, as also pay twenty dayes work and diet with tools to George Betts, as also Court
Charges that then this Obligation to be void and of none effect otherwayes to be and remain in full power
force and virtue. Order ffrancis Roberts be Sumoned to appear tomorrow. Maties behalf

Order that John: West pay 20: dayes work & diet to Overseer of Many hundred upon Margerettas accot

To the worll. Justices of Somerset County now in Court Sitting. The humble Petion of Bratha Connigham
humbly sheweth that your Petioner Came into this County a free woman and did hier her self for One whole
year
unto mr. Lawrence: Crawford in which year mr Crawford and your Petioner, had some difference, in so much that
your
Petioner Served but eight months of the twelve, but your Petioner Since that she came into the County hath
Committed a fault, that hath offended the law of God and man. But the sd mr. Crawford pretended that he had A
great kindness for your Petioner, and did pretend that he would keep your petioner harmless from the Law, provided
your petitioner would indent with him for four years, Your petioner being ignorant of the Law did condescend
there unto, and did bind her self for four year Conditionally that your petioners Child did live wth yr Petioner
the tearm of the aforesd four yeare, and to have mentanance according as a Child ought to have. And at the
expiration of the said tearm your petioners Child to be free, with your petioner. but it pleased God for to take
your Petitioners Child from her at eight dayes old. Your Petioner humbly craves that your worps would be
pleased for to take it into Consideration. And your petioner in duty bound shall ever pray

This Indenture made the five and twentieth day of November in the Second year of the Reign of our Sovereign
Lord and Lady King Wm. & Queen Mary Over England &c. and in the year of our Lord God One thousand six
hundred and ninety. Between Lawrence Crawford of Pocomoke in the County of Somerset in Somerset
County in the Province of Maryland, Merchant of the one part, and Bethia Cunningham of the same County and
Province of Maryland Spinster on the other part witnesseth that the sd Bethia Cunningham of her own fre and
voluntary will, doth put and bind her self Apprentice to the said Lawrence Crawford for the tearm of four whole years from
the day of the date hereof untill the said time be fully and compleatly ended in all which time the said Bethia shall
well and truly serve the said Lawrence Crawford at such lawfull imployment as he the said Lawrence shall think ~
Convenient to imploy her in, his secrets she shall keep close, his comandements lawfull and honest every where
she
shall willingly do: Hurt to her said Master she shall not do or Suffer to be done to the value of twelve pence or
more by the year but shall lett it if she may, or imediatly warn her said Master thereof, at dice or Cards or any
other unlawfull game she shall not play whereby her said Master may incurr any damage, fornication in her Said
Masters house or else where she shall not Comit. Matrimony with any one she shall not contract or espouse, dureing the sd
tearm of her Apprentishipp. Taverns, ale houses or Ordinaries she shall not frequent unless it be about her Masters
business there to be done. the goods of her said Master she shall not wast, nor them to any one lend without her said
Masters Licence, nor from his Service neither by night nor day shall absent her Self, but in all things as a good & faithfull
Apprentice shall bear and behave her Self towards her said Master dureing the term aforesaid, And the sd Lawrence
