June 9th. 1691 ( 92 ) - - - - - - - Maryland Somerset County Ssc. - - - - - - - Memorandum This 14th day of April in the 3d year of their Maties Reign &c. Ano. Dom: 1691 in the 3d year Came John: Emmett: Archibald: Holmes and Doctor John: Vigerous, before us ffrancis: Jenckins Thomas Newbold and George: Layfield, three of their Maties Justices of the Peace for this County and acknowledged themselves to owe and Stand firmly indebted unto our Sovereign Lord and Lady King Wm and Queen Mary the full and just Sum herein mentioned, (to witt) the said Jno Emmett in the just Sum of Tenn pounds sterling money of England, and Archibald Holmes the sum of ten pounds of like Sterling money, also Doctor. Jno. Vigerous in the Sum of Tenn pounds like sterling moneys to be leavied on their goods chattels and tennements as witness their Subscriptions, and Seals hereunto afixed ye day & year abovesd The Condition of this Obligation & Recognizance is such that if the above bounden John: Emmett, Archibald Holmes and Doctor John: Vigerous, do at the next Court to be holden for this County to witt on the second tuesday of June next ensueing the date hereof persue and give Such evidence as they the sd Jno. Emmett. Archibald Holmes and Doctor Jno. Vigerous as they respectively do know against William: Morris now Comitted prisoner into the Custody of the sheriffe of this County concerning as well certain most horrid blasphemies uttered & vaunted forth by the sd prisoner against our blessed Saviour Jesus Christ as other bitter Oaths and improcations of A high nature by the sd prisoner. Comitted that then this present Recognizance to be void and of none effect other wise to Stand and remain in full force power and vertue. John: Emmett ? Whereas your Petioners the last Court stood bound for Robert Downs and John: Kemps appearance this Court and your Petioners being Evidences agt the sd Downs and Kemp, desires of the worshipfull Court to be released from their Bonds, and then your Petitioners will be obliged to pray for your worps good health & happyness - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To the worll. Court of Somerset County Sendeth Greeting, whereas the humble of Dorothy Yearanten humbly Sheweth your worps that she hired her self to Arnold: Parramore of this County and of Mattapony hundred for y Space of Six months and truly Served the same, and was to have five hundred pounds of tobacco for the Same time, but in the sd time the sd Arnold Parramore, departed this life, and Since his widdow hath married with One Stephen.
