( 37 ) ffebruary 10th. & 11th. 1690/1 Secured both the Runaway and Boat according to Law, but fraudulently and craftily intending to frustrate the said Conner, togeather with one John:Clerk of this County Planter, did both conceal the Servant and Boat from the knowledge of any Magistrate or Officer whereby the sd Servant and Boat might have been Secured for the right owner being flatt contrary to the laws and institutions of this C Province enjoyning and authorizeing all persons to take up all such Suspitious persons coming into this Province without a pass, as also agt the Act inhibiting all persons to entertain or deal and truck with any hireling or Servant without the Masters knowledge. Therefore the sd Attorney Craves judgmt may be entered agt the said John:ffine according to Law in that Case made and provided. &c. Ja. Sangster Clk Indts - - - - - The Indictment being Read, the sd John:ffine in Open Court Confessed to the boat as declared and there is Ordered by the Court to deliver the sd Boat into the Custody of the Sheriffe. by him to be Secured till the Owner come. / Likewise the sd ffine is Ordered to give good Security for his good behaviour and appearance every Court dureing pleasure. Whereupon came the said ffine and by Recognizance did acknowledge himSelf to be indebted to their Maties in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling money as also his two Securities mr. Peter Dent and Patrick Donnahoe and did likewise confess themselves in debted to their Maties in the Sum of ten pounds of like money to be Leavied on their goods and Chattels lands & tenements The Condition of which Recognizance is Such that if the abovesd John; ffine doe be of the good behaviour and abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province, as also make his personall appearance every Court before our sd Justices, dureing pleasure, as also deliver the above mentioned Boat as well also to pay all Court Charges, that then this Recognizance to be voyd and of none effect, Otherwayes to be and remain in full power force & vertue. Aaron Bishop being Sumsoned to shew cause why he did not attend on the Grand Jury in November last being then legally Sumd. and now being calld to shew reason why he did not then appear, made no appearance. and therefore was Ordered to be fined according to rules of Court . - - - - - - - - - The Court adjourns till tomorrow at 9:a Clock February the 11th.: Anno Domini = 1690/1 - - - - - - - - - - - - - Comrs in Court were. // Mr: ffrancis Jenckins. mr James: Dashiels. mr. Capt John: King. - - - - - - - - - Thomas Larramore being Sumoned to attend this day as a Jury man; when Called at the Barr did not appear, for which the above sd Court did Order the said Larramore to be fined.
