Comissioners of Somerset County now in Court Sitting the humble Petition of John:Davis most humbly sheweth that yr Petioner hath attended the Court 19: dayes in a Case depending between Benjamin Deard & Wm: Henderson therefore your petioner Craveth your worps Order for the same, and your worps petioner shall be ever in duty bound to pray &c. Sworn in Court before us. sw for plt. Thomas: Jones --------- - - - - - - - - - - Ordr granted for the same Ordr given to Sangster To their Maties Justices of the Peace for Somerset County. the humble Petion of Richard Webb sheweth that whereas mr ffrancis: Jenckins did recover an Order against your Petioner in June Court last past, So yr Petioner humbly craves a rehearing of the same, he hath better Information that William Thomas hath paid unto Coii. Stevens Severall of the articles of the accompt which the sd mr ffrancis: Jenckins did recover of your Petioner, which yr Petioner humbly prayes your worps would be pleased to regulate, and your Petioner as in duty bound shall ever pray Petion Read &c. Justices of their Maties Peace for the County of Somerset now in Court Sitting. The Petion of Thomas Oxford humbly sheweth, whereas yr Petioner was bound to the good behaviour March last past here every Court Since appeared, and your Petioner hath behaved himselfe Civilly & loyaly towards all their Maties liege people. So as I hope nothing can or hath come in agt me to the Contrary, your worps petioner Craves to have up my Bonds, and your worps petioner as in duty bound Shall ever pray &c. The Petion being read it was Ordered by this Court that the sd Oxfords bonds be continued till Oxfords worke be compleated Ordr like mr. Hopkins, & Wm: Robbinson Tanner, make in spection into the sd worke & make report thereof to Court. Francis: Roberts Attor: of Rich Lamb. plt. Somerset County Sc. Wm: Cheesman of this County Planter was attached to answer Contra. to anffrancis Roberts. Attorney for Richard:Lamb Marriner,in a plea of debt. &c. William: Cheesman: Defendant - And whereupon the plt by James:Sangster his Attorney Comes and Sayes,that ye defend. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - by his Bond Obligatory Signed with his hand and Sealed with his Seal. bearing date The twenty fourth day of June Annog Domini 1684. is become and stands indebted unto the sd Richard: Lamb in the full and just Sum of two thousand pounds of good Sound Merchantable tobacco payable upon demand, to the sd Lamb his Heirs, Extors Certain Admrs or Assigns,the Condition of the sd Obligation being Such that if the sd Cheesman dft, do diliver a ^ Long Boat belonging unto the sd Lamb and taken up by the sd deft with all her appurternances when she was so taken up unto ffrancis Roberts plt &Assigne as -s aforesd at or before the 1st. day of October next ensueing the date of the sd Bond which is here in Court produced, the sd Roberts - - paying the sd dft two hundred pounds of tobacco for his trouble in taking up the sd Boat with all her necessaries, That then the Obligation to be void &c. But so it is that the sd dft fraudulently & Craftily intending to deceive the plt of the sd longboat verte |
