Maryland Ss. - Memodm. that on the seventh day of June in the year of our Lord 1690. Came Hannah Emmett before us under written two of their Maties Justices of the Peace for Somerset County in the Province afd and made Oath that the above is a just and true account and that she delivered the above mentioned perticulers. in the behalf of Wm: Willmott Mercht at the rates and prices above mentioned, and hath recd no part or parcell of satisfaction for the same &c. ----- Taken before us the day and year above written Edmund: Howard Wm: Willmott in Open Court made Oath that he had ffrancis: Jenckins recd no part or percell of the above sd accompt. C } bus. Pe: This Court grants Order agt Walter Lane for ye abovesd 18: 1: 0 of wheat - ord alias Executio. John: Barron Plt Somerset County Ss. John: Rowell of Somerset County Cordweiner was Contra: sumoned to answer unto John: Barron of the same County Tanner John: Rowell. Deft of a plea that he render unto him the full and just sum of four thousand - - - - - - - - - pounds of good bright sound Merchantable tobacco in Cask which to him he oweth and unjustly deteineth &c. And whereupon the said John: Barron by Peter Dent his Attorney saith that the said John. Rowell the 28th: day of June in the year of our Lord 1689 at Monocan within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his certain writing Obligatory, which the sd John: Barron with the seal of the sd John: Rowell Signed bringeth here into Court, the date whereof is the day aforesd, acknowledged bringeth here into Court himself to be bound to the sd John Barren in the full and just sum of four thousand Pounds of tobacco and Cask, to the which payment well and truly to be made the sd John: Rowell bound himself firmly by the said writing. Nevertheless the sd Sum of four thousand Pounds of toba. although often demanded the same to the said John Barron hath not paid, but hath hitherto rendered, but hath hitherto denyed and doth still deny to the damage of the said John: Barron of 6000: Pounds of tobacco & thereof he brings his suit &c.
