THURSDAY, January 18, 1872.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Chap-
lain.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :
Messrs. Gorman, Speaker, Colton, of St. Mary's, Dunbar,
Wilmer, Hurtt, Wells, Henkle, Bond, Sparrow, Chapman,
Stone, Shipley, Turner, Foard, of Baltimore County, Litzin-
ger, Spencer, Banks, Butler, Roach, Waller, Dougherty,
Smith, Vickers, Radcliffe, Groome, Mearns, Penington, Scott,
Bowie, Eareckson, Ford, of Queen Anne's, Franklin, Parker,'
Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane, Miller, Routzahn, Streett, Hard-
castle, Deweese, McCosker, Hamilton, T. H., Cooper, Hamil-
ton, O. R., Jamart, Foster, Stay lor, Stewart, Travel's, dark,
of Baltimore City, Colton, of Baltimore City, Kirk, Chaisty,
Harig, Feig, McColgan, Markland, Griswold, Young, of
Washington, Ardinger, Newcomer, Whitson, Hilton, Riggs,
dark, of Montgomery, Porter, Coles, Young, of Allegany,
Steele, Lamotte, L. A. J., Polk, Lamotte, H. H... Linthi-
cum, Johnson, Langrell—76.
Mr. Clark, of Balto. City, presented the petition of the
Boys' Home Society of Baltimore, asking for an appropria-
tion.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Young, of Washington county, presented the petition
of Abigail Burns, asking for a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Foard, of Balto. county, presented the petition of
Shadrach Street and fifty-six other citizens of Baltimore and
Harford counties, asking the passage of such Act or Acts as
will compel the Baltimore and Harford Turnpike Company,
to place their road in good and safe condition.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Jamart presented a petition for a pension, from Eliza
beth Davy, widow of Hugh Davy, for correction and restora-
tion.
Also,
A petition for a pension from Eliza Ross, widow of David
Rosa, for correction and restoration.
