A bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to Ar-
ticle XCIII. of the Code of Public General Laws, sub-title
""Testamentary Law," and to be section 330.
Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact section 180,
of Article XXX. of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "Sabbath Breaking,"
so that barber shops shall be closed on Sunday.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Groome, Chairman of the Committee on Federal Re-
lations, to whom was referred
The Joint Resolutions, requesting our Senators and Rep-
resentatives in Congress, to use all proper means to procure
the passage of an Act during the present Session, authoriz-
ing the acceptance of the proposals of the International
Steamship Company, made to- the Secretary of the Navy,
looking to the establishment of an Iron Ship Building Yard,
under the authority of the General Government, for the re-
vival of ship building and ocean commerce,
Reported the tame favorably, with proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED, ;
Strike out second resolution, make third resolution the
-second resolution.
Which were severally read and adopted.
Mr. Franklin, from the Committee on Federal Relations,
to whom was referred
The Joint Resolutions requesting our Senators and. Repre-
sentatives in Congress, to use their efforts to procure the pas-
sage of a law authorizing the employment of an Engineer to
ascertain the practicability of cutting a channel from the
Atlantic Ocean, into the waters of Synapuxent Bay, &c.,
Reported the flame favorably.
Mr. Routzahn, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Frederick county to subscribe to
the capital stock of certain railroads.
