Earle received 13 votes " George Vickers ( 21 " " Geo.R. Dennis ' 11 " Jas. B.Groome t 5 (> " Jno, R. Franklin ( 7 " " Dan'l M. Henry ' 12 ' " R. B Carmichael > 7 " ' Alex. Evans ' 1 ' ' Jacob Tome 1 " I Jno. M. Miller 3 " ' J. A. J. Creswell 11 " ' Dan'1 Fields 7 " ' Philip F. Thomas 2 " 101 Whereupon, it appearing that no person had received a majority of all the votes cast, The Chairman declared that no person had been elected by the Joint Convention as Senator from Maryland to the congress of the United States. The Joint Convention then proceeded to a second ballot. SECOND VOTE. Upon the call of the roll the following vote was had : HOD. James T. Earle received 18 votes. " George Vickers (< 21 " " George R.
