Mr. Griswold, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi- ciary, reported favorably, A bill entitled an Act to legalize the bequest of Andrew Steinleur, to the Saint Peter's -and Saint Paul's Catholic Church of Cumberland. Which was read. a first time. Also, favorably, A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3, of Article XOV. of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Usury," and to re-enact the same to read as follows. Which was read a first time. Also, favorably, A bill entitled an Act to add two additional sections to Article XXX., of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments," to be numbered 210 and 211. "Which, was read a first time. Also, favorably, A bill entitled an Act to make valid and to carry into effect the bequest contained in the last; will and testament of - Isaac Sterling, late of Somerset county, deceased, in favor of the Trustees of Asbury M. E. Church, near Crisfield, in Somerset county. Which was read a first time. Also, favorably, A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace for the Second Election District, and also an additional Justice of the Peace for the Ninth District in Frederick county. Which was read a first time. Also, favorably, The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the defence of Officers of Registration, Judges of Election, and others, who are indicted in the United States Court, for alleged violation |
