1862.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 956
Act to prevent stock running at large on the public roads in
the Seventh Election District of Cecil county.
Which were severally read and referred to the Cecil dele-
gation.
Mr. Coles presented the petition of John Wilson and one
hundred and thirty-six other citizens of Barton, Allegany
county, Maryland, asking for the passage of a "Local Option
Liquor Law."
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Jamart presented the petition of Charles Nichols and
three hundred and forty other citizens, against the repeal of
the Sunday Law.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
On motion of Mr. Linthicum,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Maryland and Delaware
Ship Canal Company.
On motion of Mr. dark, of Baltimore City,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to authorize the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, to erect bridges on certain streets or avenues
leading out of the City of Baltimore,
On motion of Mr. Linthicum,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Linthicum, German and.
Riggs, to introduce a bill to prevent cattle and swine run-
ning at large in the Second Election District of Howard
county.
On motion of Mr. Riley, '
Leave was granted to the Harford Delegations to intro-
duce a bill, for the relief of Mrs. Mary Jones, of Harford
County.
On motion of Mr. Groome,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to authorize the payment of the amount due the
Columbia and Port Deposit Railroad Company on the cou-
pons of said Company received by the State.
On motion of Mr. Mearns,
Leave was granted to the Cecil Delegation to introduce a
bill to prevent stock running at large in the Sixth, Seventh.
and Ninth Election Districts in Cecil county.
