TUESDAY, March 19th, 1872.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.,
Mr. Highley, Chaplain.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:
Messrs. German. (Speaker,) Colton, of St. Mary's, Hurtt,,
Wells, Duvall, Henkle, Bond, Chapman, Stone, Shipley,
Turner, Foard, of Baltimore county, Litzinger, Spencer,.
Banks, Butler, Goldsborough, Roach, Waller, Dougherty,
Smith, Radcliffe, Groome, Mearns, Penington, Scott, Sasscer,
Eareckson, Ford, of Queen Acne's, Franklin, Parker,.
Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane, Routzahn, Riley, Baldwin,
Streett, Hardcastle, Deweese, McCosker, Hamilton, T.
H , Cooper, Hamilton, O. R., Jamart, Foster, Staylor
Stewart, Travers, dark, of Baltimore city, Colton, of Balti-
more city, Kirk, Chaisty, Harig, Feig, McColgan, Mark-
land, Griswold, Young, of Washington, Ardinger, New-
comer, Whitson, Hilton, Riggs, dark, of Montgomery,
Porter, Coles, Young, of Allegany, Robinette, Steele,
Lamotte, LA; A. J., Lamotte, H. H., Linthicum, John-
son, LangreII—73.
Mr. Smith presented the petition of Joseph Tickers and
other citizens, asking for an extension of the time for taking
fur animals in Dorchester and "Wicomico counties.
Which was read and referred to the Dorchester dele-
gation.
Mr. Ardinger presented the petition of Rev. George G.
Smith and Edward Friend, and three hundred and twenty
other citizens of Williamsport and vicinity, praying for a
law to prohibit the sale of intoxicating liquor* within three-
miles of said town.
Which was read.
Mr. Hardcastle moved to refer the same to the Washing-
ton delegation.
Which was decided in the negative.
Said petition was then referred to the Committee on "Ways
and Means.
Mr, McCosker presented the petition of Elizabeth Ann
Peck, widow of Jacob H., to be restored to the State pension..
