Mr. Spencer submitted the following order :
Ordered, That Mr. Banks be excused from attendance in
this House until Monday, January 22nd, on account of the
sickness of a member of his family.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Miller submitted the following order:
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, that Mr.
Porter was absent from his seat yesterday on account of a
summons to appear before the Circuit Court for Allegany
county.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Scott submitted the following order :
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, that Dr.
Sasscer, a member from Prince George's county, is detained
from his seat in this House by sickness in his family.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Henkle submitted the following order :
Ordered, That permission be, and is hereby given to the
Grand Division of the Sons of Temperance, of Maryland,
to hold their annual meeting in this Hall, on Thursday
evening, January 25th, 1872.
Which was rejected.
Mr. Henkle submitted the following order :
Ordered, That 1,500 copies of the Report of the Maryland
Agricultural College be printed for the use of the Legisla-
ture and College.
Which was read, and
On motion of Mr. Travers,
The further consideration thereof postponed.
On motion of Mr. Spencer,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore County delegation to
introduce a bill to prevent nuisances, and the obstructing
and enclosing of certain passages in the town of Franklin,
Baltimore county.
On motion of Mr. Duvall,
Leave was granted to the Anne Arundel and Pr- George's
delegations, to introduce a bill to repeal the Act of 1870,
Chapter 427, entitled an Act to prevent the increase of gates
upon the public roads of Anne Arundel and Prince George's
counties, 80 far as it applies to Anne Arundel county.
