Leave was granted, to the Worcester county delegation and
Mr. Johnson, of Wicomico, to introduce a bill amending sec-
tions 40 and 41, of Article XXII., of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Worcester County," sub-title "Elec-
tions."
On motion of Mr. Baldwin,
Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to introduce
a bill to repeal and re-enact with amendments, section 135,
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Harford County,"
sub-title "Sheriffs."
Mr. Street, acting Chairman of the Committee on Way a
and Means reported back: favorably,
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to transfer the sum of
money appropriated by chapter 383, section 1, Acts of Gen-
eral Assembly of 1870, to the Elkton and Massey's Railroad
Company, from said Company, to the Middletown and Elk-
ton Railroad Company.
Which was read a second time.
Also, unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act to exempt the capital stock of Pas-
senger Railway Companies in the City of Baltimore from
taxation.
The report was adopted.
Also, unfavorably,
A bill, entitled an Act supplementary to an Act, passed
at January Session, 1870, chapter 215, entitled an Act to
appropriate a sum of money tor transcribing, indexing, re-
binding records, preserving papers, and for preparing a digest
of the Lawa and Rules of the Land Office.
The report was adopted.
Mr. Goldsborough moved that the vote by which the un-
favorable report of the Committee on Ways and Means was
adopted, be reconsidered.
Which was decided in the negative."
Also, unfavorably,
The bill, entitled an Act to aid in the maintenance of a
Free Infirmary in connection with the Baltimore College of
Surgery, and. to appropriate money therefor.
Which was considered, and,
On motion of Mr. Kirk,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill recommitted to the Committee on Ways and Means.
