1872..] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES; 873 On motion of Mr. Linthicum, Leave was granted to Messrs. Linthicum, German and Hil- ton, to introduce a bill to authorize the County Commission- ers of Howard county to re-assess the property of Thomas. Marriott. On motion of Mr. McCoIgan, Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller to audit and settle the claims of Catharine Middleton. On motion of Mr. Markland, Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to introduce a bill to appropriate a sum of money to heat and! ventilate the State House. On motion of Mr. Chapman, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings to introduce a bill to repeal Article IV., of the Public General Laws title "Aliens," and to enact a substitute in lieu thereof, enabling Aliens to take, hold and? transmit real estate- in the same manner as may he done by bona fide citizens of the State. On motion of Mr. Stone, Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to- report a bill for the re-valuation and assessment of the prop- erty of this State. Also, Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to- report a bill to create a State Loan for the purpose of taking up the over-due and sterling debt of this State. Also, Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to report a bill imposing a tax on Commissions of persons ap- pointed to take acknowledgements of deeds in other State's. Also, Leave was granted to the Charles county delegation and Mr.. ' Dunbar, to report a bill authorizing the County Commis- sioners of Charles county to re-assess the real estate of John; H. D. Wingate. Also, Leave WAS granted to the Charles county delegation and Mr. Dunbar, to report a bill to repeal and re-enact, with amend- ments, the second section of Act of 1870, chapter 441. |
