872 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 15.,.
Mr. Steele submitted the following order:
Ordered, That Messrs. Bowie and Stone be allowed leave-
of absence until next Tuesday.
Which was adopted.
Mr. dark, of Baltimore City, submitted the following
order:
Ordered, That no more bills be made the order of the day,.
except those reported from the Committee on Way and Means.-
Which waa adopted.
Mr. H. H. Lamottee submitted, the following order :
Ordered, That Messrs. Steele and Whitson have leave of
absence until Tuesday next.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Chapman submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Library Committee appointed under the-
Act of 1870, chapter 272 be, and they are hereby, authorized
and empowered to examine the collection of legal .and politi-
cal works and tracts in the possession of the Rev. Dr. Alien,.
of Baltimore, and if they deem it advisable, to purchase the-
same fop the State Library, as such reasonable price as may
be agreed upon.
Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Banks,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to re-
port a bill providing for an additional Justice of the Peace
in the Fourth Election District of Baltimore county.
OB motion of Mr. Coles,
Leave was granted to the Allegany delegation to introduce a
bill to repeal section 2 of the Act of 1870, chapter 77, incor-
porating the town of Frostburg, in Allegany county, and re-
enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Hardcastle,
Leave wag granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill for the relief of the Baltimore City Passenger
Bail way Company.
On motion of Mr. Rowe,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to enroll the qualified voters
of any ward or election district in this State, to determine-
by ballot, whether drinking houses may, or may not, W
licensed in such. ward or election district.
