FRIDAY, March 15, 1872.
The House met,
And was opened with prayer by the Rev. Mr. Highley,
Chaplain.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:
Messrs. Gorman, Speaker, Colton, of St. Mary's, Dunbar,
Wilmer, Hurtt, Wells, Duvall, Henkle, Bond, Sparrow,
Chapman, Stone, Shipley, Turner, Foard, of B. Co., Litzin-
ger, Spencer, Banks, Butler, Goldsborough, Roach, Waller,
Dougherty, Smith, Radcliffe, Groome, Mearns, Penington,
Scott, Sasscer, Eareckson, Ford, of Q. A., Franklin, Parker,
Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane, Miller, Riley, Baldwin, Streett,
Hardcastle, Deweese, McCosker, Hamilton, T. H., Cooper,
Hamilton, O. R., Jamart, Foster, Staylor, Stewart, Trav-
ers, dark, of B. City, Colton, of B. City, Kirk, Chaisty,
Harig, Feig, McColgan Maryland, Griswold, Young, of
Wash., Newcomer, Whitson, Hilton, Riggs, Clark, of
Mont., Porter, Coles, Young, of Alle., Robinette, Steele, La-
motte, L. A. J. Lamotte, H. H., Linthicum, Johnson,
Langrell—77.
Mr. Riley presented the petition of Dr. G. Roberts, and
nineteen other citizens of Harford county, asking for a pen-
sion for Ellen Robinson.
Which wag read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.
Mr. Wilmer presented the petition of J. A. Usilton, and
forty-nine other citizens of Chestertown, against any change
in the manner of selecting Commissioners for said town.
Which was read and referred to a Select Committee, con-
sisting of Messrs. Wilmer, Hurtt, and Hardcastle.
Mr. Riggs presented the petition of Asenith Burdett and
Eliza Mobley, asking the repeal of the law taxing collateral
inheritances.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Waller presented the petition of Wm. I. Webster, and
one hundred and eighty other citizens of Somerset county,
praying the passage of a law, prohibiting the catching of
oysters with tongs or nippers, during the months of June,
July and August, in eaid county.
