Mr. Henkle presented the petition of eighty-seven citizens of
Anne Arundel county against the passage of a law creating.
a County Treasurer.
Which was read and referred to the Anne Arundel delega-
tion.
Mr. Chapman presented the petition of Richard T. Tub-
man, Thomas Howard and E. Fairfax Mason against the in-
crease of worthless dogs in Charles county..
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.
Mr. Langrell presented the petition of one hundred and
sixty citizens of the Third District of Wicomico county,.
praying for an optional liquor law in said district.
Which was read and referred to a Select Committee, con-
sisting of Messrs. Langrell, Johnson and Franklin.
Mr. Banks presented the petition of sundry citizens of
Baltimore county, asking that the salary of the Judges of
the Circuit Courts of the State of Maryland and Court of Ap-
peals be increased.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Dunbar presented a petition from W. B. Langley, T.
N. Langley and other citizens of St. Mary's county, praying
the passage of a law to protect sheep from the ravages of
dogs.

Mr. Banks presented the petition of citizens of the Fourth
District of Baltimore county, asking to be reimbursed for
money expended in furnishing substitutes in the draft of
1864.
