840 - JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 14,
THURSDAY, March U, 1872.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev-
Father Freitag.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:
Messrs. German, Speaker, Colton, of St. Mary's, Dunbar,
Wilmer, Hurtt, Wells, Duvall, Henkle, Bond, Sparrow, Chap-
man, Stone, Shipley Turner, Foard, of Baltimore county, Lit-
zinger, Spencer, Banks, Butler, Goldsborough, Roach, Waller,,
Dougherty, Smith, Vickers, Radcliffe, Groome, Mearns, Pen-
ington, Scott, Sasscer, Eareckson, Ford, of Queen Anne's,.
Franklin, Parker, Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane, Miller, Streett,
Hardcastle, Deweese, McCosker, Hamilton, T. H., Cooper,
Hamilton, C. R., Jamart, Staylor, Stewart, Travers, dark, of
Baltimore city, Colton, of Baltimore city, Kirk, Chaisty,
Feig, McColgan, Griswold, Young, of Washington county,
Newcomer, Whitson, Hilton, Biggs, dark, of Montgomery,
Porter, Coles, Young, of Allegany, Robinette, Steele, La-
motte, L. A. J., Polk, Lamotte, H. H., Langrell—72.
Mr. McCosker submitted the following order :
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, if Thomas
McCosker had been present when the bill to pay the Police,
ot Baltimore when sick, passed this House, he would have voted for it.
"Which was adopted.
Mr. Radcliffe submitted the following order :
Ordered, That leave of absence be granted to William T.
Vickers, until Tuesday next.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Groome presented the petition of twenty-seven resi-
dents of Cecil county, asking for a change of the State's ap-
propriation from the Elkton and Massey's Railroad Com-
pany to the Middletown and Elkton Railroad Company.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.
Mr. Miller presented a petition from four hundred citizens
of Baltimore City, against any modification of the Sunday
Law.
Which was read and referred to the Frederick delegation.
Mr. Penington presented the petition of P. H. Pyfer, Geo.
Ports, and six hundred other citizens of Frederick county,
asking the passage of an Act to protect fish in the waters of
Monocacy and its tributaries.
