rate the Old Town Savings' Institution of Baltimore,"
passed at January Session, 1858, and to re-enact part of the
same with amendments, and to change the name of said
body corporate to the Old Town Bank of Baltimore.
Which was read a first time.
Also,
A bill, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Manor
Mining and Manufacturing Company, passed January Ses-
sions, 1850,chapter 166.
Which was read a first time.
Mr, Griswold, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to authorize the proprietors of
Greenmount Cemetery to increase the permanent fund (or
the maintenance thereof.
Which was considered, and on motion of Mr. Griswold,
referred to the delegation from the Second Legislative Dis-
trict of Baltimore City.
Mr. Kirk, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably,
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to confirm and approve
.an Act passed January Session, 1870, chapter 2, entitled an
Act to authorize the County Commissioners of Frederick
County to subscribe to the stock of turnpike companies in
Frederick County. ,
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Miller, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably,
A bill, entitled an Act authorizing the County Commis-sioners for Frederick County to subscribe to the capital
stock of the Liberty and Frederick Turnpike Company of
Frederick County.
Which was read a first time.
The Joint Resolution instructing the Attorney General to
appear for the State in cases now pending in the Territory
of Columbia, being upon a second reading,
Mr. Streett submitted the following amendment :
Amend by striking out all after the word "requested"
and insert the following: "To employ additional counsel, if
in his judgment the same may be necessary, to protect the
interests of the State in such case or cases as may be pending
