.section of Article IV, of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore City entitled "Elections."
Mr. Griswold, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, reported favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 15, Article L.,
title "Juries," of the Code of Public General Laws, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, giving to the State
the right of peremptory challenge in certain cases.
Which was read a first time.
Also,
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of Article
LXIV., of the Code of Public General Laws, i elating to
Mortgages, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Griswold, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, to whom was referred
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22,
23, '24, 26, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35, of
Article XI , of the Code of Public Local "Laws for Frederick
County, sub-title "Almshouse," and re-enact the same to
read as follows, together with petition in reference thereto,
Reported back the same; and asked that the Committee be
discharged, from the further consideration of the subject,
with the recommendation that said bill and petition be re-
ferred to the Select Committee, already appointed.
Mr. Colton, of Baltimore City, submitted the following
amendment:
Strike out the words "Committee already appoined," and
insert Frederick county delegation.
Which was adopted.
The question then recurring upon the motion as amended,,
It was adopted, and
The bill, with accompanying paper so referred.
The Committee on the Judiciary were then discharged
from the further consideration of the subject.
Mr. Foster, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported, favorably
An Act to repeal certain sections of and amend the charter
of the Old Town Savings' Institution of Baltimore City, as
contained in the Act entitled "an Act to Incorporate the Old
Town Savings' Institution of Baltimore," passed at Janu-
ary Session, 1858, and repeal an Act passed at January Ses-
