AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 44, line 35, after the words "now receives," insert
the following proviso: "Provided, that the said Clerk shall, in
No one year, receive from the said County Commissioners
more than seven hundred dollars in any manner or under
any pretext whatever of extra services."
Which was rejected.
Mr. Scott submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 45, line 28, after. the word "law," insert the fol-
lowing proviso : "Provided, however, that the Treasurer shall
not, in no one year, receive more than three thousand dol-
lars, and all sums over and above that amount, shall be by
"him returned to the County Commissioners to be applied to
the repair of roads."
Which was rejected.
The bill was then read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.
The next order of the day, being
The bill, entitled an Act to provide for the Inspection of
'Guano, and all artificially manufactured or manipulated
fertilizers imported or brought into or manufactured for sale
in the City of Baltimore,
Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
