Said bill was then returned to the Senate. ., The Senate bill, entitled an Act ceding to the United States of America jurisdiction over the land contained within the enclosures of the National Cemetery near Annapolis, Being upon a third reading, Mr. Chapman submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Section 1, line 4, after the word " date," insert: '28th day of July, 1871." The amendment was adopted, and The bill, as amended, was then read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as follows : |
