The petition of James Touchstone, and one hundred citi-
zens of Cecil county, praying a law to tax the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad capital stock, and to compel that company to
pay into the Treasury the amount due the State by it.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.
Mr. Eareckson presented the petition of James D. Wil-
son, Richard Jackson, James E. Graham, Joel Clements,
and thirty other citizens of Queen Anne's county, asking for
a law to better protect partridges in said county.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee-
on that subject.
Mr. Streett presented the petition of Jacob Wann, asking
for a pension.
Also,
The petition of William Wann, asking for a pension.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.
Mr, Chaisty presented the petition of Mary Ann Zimmer-
man, widow of Henry H. Zimmerman, asking to be restored:
to the State pension rolls.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Dunbar presented a memorial from Dr. James H,
Miles, R. J. Bean, and sundry citizens of St. Mary's county,
asking the passage of a law subjecting the capital stock and
property of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to taxation,
and also to require said company to pay into the State
Treasury the amounts found and decreed by the Courts to be
justly due the State, and wrongfully and illegally withheld
by said company.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Young, of Washington presented the petition of A.
D. Grim, and other citizens of Washington county, asking
the passage of a bill to protect fish in Israel Creek, in Washi-
ngton county. ,
Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.
Also,
The petition of E. L. Boteler, and other citizens of Wash-
ington county, protesting against the passage of a bill pro-
hibiting the sale of liquors in said county.
